1. Introduction

Lanphier Ventures LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), doing business as ChatVerify, operates the ChatVerify mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information, including biometric data.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information:

• Email address
• Username/handle
• Password (encrypted, never stored in plain text)

Biometric Data:

• Profile photo (stored in our secure cloud storage)
• Facial comparison data processed during verification (not stored after verification is complete)

Usage Data:

• Meetup history (dates and participants)
• Verification share history
• Trust score and verification status
• Subscription status

Device Information:

• Basic device information collected automatically by our infrastructure providers

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Verify your identity as a real human being
• Display your verified profile to recipients of your share links
• Calculate and display your trust score
• Process your subscription and manage account access
• Provide customer support
• Improve the App

4. Biometric Data — Special Notice

ChatVerify collects and processes facial biometric data. Specifically:

• Your profile photo is stored in our secure cloud storage (Supabase, hosted in US-West-2) and is used as your verified profile picture
• Your profile photo is publicly visible to anyone who receives your verification share link
• During verification, a selfie is captured and compared to your profile photo using AWS Rekognition facial recognition technology
• The selfie used for comparison is not stored after verification is complete
• Facial comparison processing occurs on AWS servers located in the United States

You may withdraw consent for biometric data collection at any time by deleting your account, which permanently removes your profile photo and all associated data.

5. Third Party Services

We share data with the following third parties solely to operate the App:

Supabase (Database and Storage):

• Stores your account information, meetup history, and profile photo
• Located in US-West-2 (Oregon, United States)
• Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy

Amazon Web Services — Rekognition:

• Processes facial comparison during verification
• Located in the United States
• Privacy policy: aws.amazon.com/privacy

RevenueCat:

• Manages subscription status and payment processing
• Privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections, secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Withdraw consent for biometric data processing
• Request a copy of your data

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@chatverify.app or use the Delete Account feature in the App's settings.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your profile photo, biometric data, meetup history, and account information within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

ChatVerify is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately terminate their account and delete their data.

10. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact privacy@chatverify.app.

11. International Users

ChatVerify is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App. The effective date at the top of this policy reflects the most recent update.
